Diffusion (Fluid Mechanics)¶
In fluid mechanics, diffusion is described using diffusion flux, which is a vector that represents the quantity and direction of transfer. In the Fick’s model of diffusion, it is proportional to the gradient of the concentration of the quantity in question (for example, the number of particles per unit volume). Thus, we can solve the equation to find the distribution of concentration in time and space.
