Virial Expansion¶
Virial expansion is a model of thermodynamic equations of state that represents the compressibility factor \(Z\) as a power series of pressure \(\rho\). The coefficients of the series are called virial coefficients. Notably, the leading virial coefficient is equal to \(1\) so that the equation becomes that of an ideal gas in the limit of zero gas pressure.
