Phase Transitions¶
A phase transition or phase change is a physical process when the system transitions from one physical state into another. Excluding plasma, this can occur between either of the solid, liquid, and gas state. Within a single phase the system exhibits uniform physical properties, but they can change discontinuously during a phase transition.
