Serial LC Circuit

An LC circuit, also referred to as a resonant circuit, is an electric circuit consisting of an inductor (represented by the letter L), and a capacitor (represented by the letter C).

In a serial LC circuit the inductor \(L\) and capacitor \(C\) are connected in series:

An interesting property of this circuit is that it can experience resonance at the frequency

\[\omega_0 = \frac{1}{\sqrt{L C}}.\]
