Alternating Current

Alternating current (often shortened to AC) is an electric current that periodically reverses direction and changes its magnitude continuously with time.

The identities of this module include

  • a version of the Ohm’s law applicable to time-independent AC circuits

  • the formula for the magnetic field in an AC circuit

  • the definition of power factor
