General Motion (Kinematics)¶
In general, the motion of a classical rigid body can be described at any time as a combination of a linear translation and a rotational motion around an instantaneous axis of rotation.
As such, the notions of tangential and normal acceleration can be defined for any point along the trajectory of the body, as well as the instantaneous angular velocity of the body can be related to its instantaneous linear velocity.
