Centers (Kinematics)

The center of mass of a spatial mass distribution is defined as the weighted average position of the distributed mass. At this point, the weighted relative position is zero.

The center of gravity of a body is the point at which the total torque due to gravity forces is zero. It can be considered the same as the center of mass provided that the gravity field is uniform.

The center of buoyancy of an object immersed in a fluid is the center of gravity of the displaced volume of the fluid.
