Electric Dipole¶
The electric dipole moment is a measure of the separation of positive and negative electrical charges within a system.
A simple electric dipole is formed by putting two oppositely charged point charges. Ideally, the distance between them would be infinitesimally small, but it also suffices if the distance from the point of observation to the dipole is much larger than the size of the dipole itself.
