Positional Astronomy

Positional astronomy is the branch of astronomy concerned with determining the positions and apparent motions of celestial objects on the sky. It studies the geometric relationships between astronomical coordinates, the observer’s location, and the observed positions of stars, planets, and other celestial bodies.
